Verdict:

This movie was designed as a scientific test for the purpose of finding out more about the people you know. You make them watch this movie and then ask them what they thought of it. If someone starts talking about how it’s just offensive and vulgar rather than funny, well, that’s how you know if you want to hang out with them or not. It is interesting to see how the reviews for this movie fluctuate so much, and that is not a coincidence.

The plot feels loose. Seems like it was never very important. The makers had a number of scenes or dirty jokes they wanted to make and loosely strung them together with a single premise: what if food products didn’t know what happens to them after a human buys them, which is in itself a set-up for a few minutes of average stand-up comedy material. Mostly, this movie is a vulgar racist d*ck joke, and what sells the said d*ck joke is creative animation and a good delivery.

The humour is hit and miss, yes, that is true. Mostly, it’s very harsh and direct. The entertainment value is in the degree of vulgarity and bluntness. If you do not think that extreme vulgarity can be funny on its own then this is movie is not for you (and I’m sorry, but we can’t be friends).

Is this movie worth watching more than once? No. Absolutely not.

Is it funny? In the case of this movie, it really depends on your sense of humour.

Personal side note: I don’t understand how The Interview got the same score as this movie. Both are Seth Rogan joints, but this one is actually funny and timeless, while that other movie was a dated and unfunny pop-culture smear.
